42 years as licensed Real Estate Broker
30 years as licensed Florida Mortgage Broker
Current broker/owner of Florida Coastal Developments, Inc.
With a degree in Business Administration from East Carolina College, I was employed by the Federal Home Loan Bank Board as an examiner. After five years auditing financial institutions, I spent ten years as the chief financial officer and Senior Vice President of a large Orlando, Florida savings and loan association.
I left to go into private business and obtained a Florida real estate broker’s license and a mortgage broker’s license. I formed a brokerage company specializing in commercial real estate and entered into the real estate development field. I developed various real estate projects including rental apartment properties, shopping centers, town home developments, and ocean front condominiums. I acted as the managing partner of various groups formed with U. S. and European investors to purchase and develop real estate.
Subsequently, I was qualified as an expert witness and testified in State and Federal courts in matters of real estate and mortgage lending. I served as a court appointed receiver in five Central Florida counties and in Federal District Court involving real estate properties including a golf course, office buildings, mid-rise and high-rise condominium projects and a resort condominium hotel.
Leaving the development field, my brokerage company became a consultant and asset manager for various lenders involving foreclosed commercial and residential properties. For ten years I was a consultant to the Receiver of a failed life insurance company under a liquidation order by the Delaware Insurance Department. During this tenure, I acted as work-out negotiator for troubled commercial loans, acted as asset manager for foreclosed commercial properties, finished incomplete projects, and supervised all leasing activities for retail and office projects. I negotiated and participated in the sale and liquidation of over $200,000,000 of commercial and residential loans, and foreclosed commercial properties located from California to Florida and from Wyoming to Connecticut.
Instead of retiring, I formed and operated a two-office residential brokerage company in Yankeetown, FL and Dunnellon, FL for five years, subsequently selling both offices. After five years in retirement, I activated my real estate license again, joined the Dixie/Gilchrist/Levy Board of Realtors and I am the owner/broker of Florida Coastal Developments, Inc. in Inglis, Florida, specializing in commercial properties and vacant land.
Long story short, I am your commercial real estate expert in both Citrus County and Levy County Florida and would be pleased to assist you or your company.
